Google’s best-kept marketing secret is out.

The Internet giant, Google, has made billions of dollars by creating demand for search engine optimization, keywords, ad words, and all kinds of search engine marketing.

So how does Google grow sales? What marketing tactics does Google use when they want to locate more businesses to use their services?

Direct mail.

Yes, you heard that right: direct mail. Even though they are one of the pioneers of online marketing, Google uses traditional printing and direct mail advertising to grow their business.

Well, this is obviously good news for the printing industry, but what does it mean for you personally? Two things:

1. You need to remind yourself that the very product you provide — printing — is one of history’s all-time greatest marketing tools. So you better use it yourself and create a monthly direct mail marketing plan that showcases your firm’s quality printing.

2. You need to constantly remind your customers how vital direct mail is as part of their marketing plans.

Just remember, it’s hard to convince your customers to use direct mail if you don’t do it yourself. You create a double win when you do direct mail advertising. You’ll reap the rewards, and your customers will want to emulate your successful model.
