OK, this is getting a little harder!

It has been quite surprising for me to realize how much food I casually eat as a result of bad habits. I’m curious to know if any of you do this, too. I’ve realized that if I walk through the kitchen, I have a tendency to grab a couple quick bites of some kind of food treat or snack. It’s always little stuff, like a handful of nuts or a slice of Kraft cheese or half a cookie… but it’s always something. I like to call it “drive-by snacking.” Of course, over a month’s time, all of these little handfuls of snack foods add up to some serious calories. I’m realizing that if I could somehow limit my food intake to just the foods I eat at mealtimes, that alone would result in weight loss and better eating habits.

I’m in day four of my rapid weight-loss experiment, and I’m ahead of schedule for my weight-loss goal, but the speed of my weight loss is slowing down. At this point, I will continue eating my current amounts of food, but I will try to increase my aerobic exercise (long-distance walking) from 45 minutes a day to 60 minutes per day, in hopes of burning a few more calories and keeping my metabolism from slowing down because I’m eating less.

Thank you for your interest and support. Continued success to those of you who are trying to lose weight, too.

My name is Mike Stevens, and I am a printer.
